Scotia California is in Northern California, about 20 miles south of Eureka. It is known as a "Company Town" in that Pacific Lumber owns the whole town, everything included! The year was 1948 when Raney was hired to design a bank and a nearby shopping mall, utilizing the #1 local natural resource, Redwood Lumber. Tempura paint on artist board.
